The district has raised lot rates (memory cited in the presentation: $600 for residents and $1,200 for nonresidents) and is pursuing the limited options allowed under perpetual-care rules — for example, paying part of the superintendent’s salary from perpetual-care funds where statute permits because those duties are maintenance-related.
Young described capital needs such as equipment to upright large headstones in clay soils (Morningside Cemetery) and said the district is relying on dividends from its savings/trust accounts for some revenue. The district requested $9,000 for FY27, the same ask as prior years; the committee moved and recommended $9,000 (unanimous).
