Select Board accepts $5,400 bid on town SUV, approves committee resignation and routine warrants

At its March 11 meeting the Phippsburg Select Board accepted a $5,400 sealed bid for a 2015 Ford Explorer, approved Terry Watson’s resignation from the Landings Committee, removed a non-participating member from a committee, and signed payroll and accounts payable warrants.
The Phippsburg Select Board opened six sealed bids for a 2015 Ford Explorer and, after reading the bids, a motion was made and seconded to accept the highest bid of $5,400 from James Little; the motion carried. Board members discussed pickup logistics, registration and insurance for the purchaser.
The board accepted a written resignation from Terry Watson from the Landings Committee. Members also moved to remove Chris Nixon from the Landings Commission for lack of participation; board members discussed whether a written resignation was required but proceeded with a vote to alter committee membership.
In routine business the board signed payroll warrant number 77 and accounts payable warrants 78 and 79; members also approved select board meeting minutes from Feb. 25. A motion to adjourn carried at the end of the meeting.
None of the votes recorded in the public record included a roll-call vote tally tied to individual names; motions were moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
