Sumter board approves consent agenda; student releases, facilities study and personnel reports pass; final budget reading deferred

The Sumter School District board approved its consent agenda June 8 and recorded unanimous votes on several routine items, including student release and attendance requests, a facilities study, and two personnel reports.

Under Item 8.1, a committee member moved to allow students A through M to be released from the district for the 2026–2027 school year; that motion was seconded and approved unanimously. Separately, the board also approved a motion to allow students A through E to attend school in the district for the 2026–2027 school year; that motion likewise passed by unanimous vote.
