Robbins board adopts business-license fee amendment, swears in new treasurer

Bryant asked the board to consider a resolution at the next meeting to use $4,800 from the Brodie Scholarship Fund to sponsor 12 District 218 students on a spring-break HBCU college tour. The mayor said the fund began with $20,000 and currently stands at $16,986.50; he described plans for a July gala to help replenish the scholarship fund and said a sign-up sheet is available for those who want to help plan the event.
Clerk Sharon Dyson reported short-term revenue totals for Nov. 26, 2024–Jan. 13, 2025: Transfer Stamp $1,100; Flea Market $8,235; Vehicle Stickers $880; Senior Vehicle Stickers $970; Community Center Rental $2,800. She also reminded residents that village stickers are on sale through Feb. 28 and announced upcoming outreach events, including a Feb. 8 “Sip & Suggestions” session at Y2G's Banquet Hall.
The meeting included a brief standing-committee update on public-safety planning (Trustee Tiffany S. Robinson said she will attend a Zoom meeting with Flock about possible drone use), water-service reminders and lead-line replacement activity, and notices about upcoming committee meetings.
The board convened into closed session for personnel matters under Section 2(c)(1) and later reconvened. The meeting adjourned at 8:43 p.m.
