The Moody City Council on April 27, 2026, approved a series of routine, budgeted purchases and maintenance items during a meeting that lasted about 21 minutes.
The council approved a cloud-based policy-management and training platform for the Moody Police Department (PowerDMS) at a cost of $3,493.59 (renewal Oct. 1, 2026); the motion to approve was made by Council Member Wes Harrell and seconded by Council Member Chad Williams and carried by unanimous vote of those present. The council approved the yearly hose-and-ladder test for the Moody Fire Department at a cost of $4,850 (vendor: SEMS) on a motion by Council Member Linda Crowe and seconded by Council Member Ellis Key. The council also approved the purchase of firefighting gear from MES for $1,750 on a motion by Council Member Chad Williams and seconded by Council Member Wes Harrell.
Park and Recreation requested repair of a park water line by Joiner Plumbing for $870 (budgeted); Council Member Ellis Key moved to approve and Council Member Linda Crowe seconded. The council authorized replacement of multiple desktop computers, laptops, rugged laptops and six iPads for council members at a cost not to exceed $20,000, budgeted through the citywide five-year capital computer plan; vendors listed were Dell and Howard Technology. Each of these motions was recorded as carried by unanimous vote of members present; the minutes note Council Member Matt Morris as absent during roll call.
