He described the court work as a conversion from “a double tennis court into a flat surface with asphalt so it's a little more user friendly as far as allowing for pickle ballers to use the space,” adding the town plans movable nets and small skate elements in a corner.
Mr. Moore also reviewed planned programs and events: a new adult offering called Monday Madness Soccer at Estherbrook, a returning Cornhole League starting July 7 and a community softball tournament; he noted ongoing sponsor support for recreation programming and free helmets available through sponsors.
Board members and residents asked whether the resurfaced court would be monitored or require reservations. Officials said the court will be open initially and usage will be monitored; if demand requires it, the town could use its registration software or lock the gate and provide combinations for scheduled times.
No formal vote was taken; the work and programming were presented for information and follow up.
