Several residents used the public-comment portion of the Feb. 11 meeting to raise neighborhood concerns and make requests to the board.
Ms. Echols said she spoke with water supervisor Emani about water running near her house and thanked staff for responding. Ms. Gibbs asked whether the ordinance amendment passed earlier in the meeting changed anything about a house at 134th/Central Park and how soon it could be taken down or finished; the minutes record the question but do not record an answer.
Mr. Shepard praised the administration and pressed for a practice site for the Robbins Eagles, saying the teams are in “desperate need” of a practice field. He proposed that the village allow the Eagles to level a field at 137th and Trumbull at no cost to the village so that two to four teams could practice there. Mrs. Murphy suggested an alternate site at 141st and Hamlin as a safer location because of proximity to traffic on 137th.
The minutes record these requests and questions but do not show a response from the board or a directive to staff to act on the practice-field proposal or the demolition question.
The meeting adjourned at 8:09 p.m.
