Village Administrator Jordan Hodges updated council on multiple public-works and community items at the Oct. 20 meeting. He said photos show steps were installed at Stillwater Dam by Finfrock Construction and that some funding remains to support follow-up items next year. Hodges also reported asphalt work was completed in the village wellfields.
Hodges announced the village received an America 250 Community Grant, which will help fund three events next year to highlight Covington’s history. He added that newly ordered American flags arrived and that the village decided to replace all flags at once. Hodges noted a damaged light pole and a traffic light that will cost about $13,000 to repair and said he would look into replacement options.
Hodges closed his update with reminders about upcoming community dates: trick-or-treat on Oct. 30 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and that polls will be open Nov. 4 from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM.
