Waynesville Council adopts flood-damage ordinance and updates Mayor’s Court fees

The Village of Waynesville Council amended and then adopted Ordinance 2024-051, which adds Chapter 151 to the Codified Ordinances regarding special-purpose flood damage reduction, and declared it an emergency. Mrs. Connie Miller moved to add the emergency clause; Mr. Brian Blankenship seconded. Roll call: seven yeas. Mayor Earl Isaacs then moved to adopt the ordinance as amended; Mr. Chris Colvin seconded; roll call: seven yeas.
Council also adopted Ordinance 2024-052, amending the schedule of fees and charges for filing pleas in absentia in Mayor’s Court, and declared that ordinance an emergency. Mrs. Miller moved adoption as an emergency and Mr. Lyle Anthony seconded; roll call: seven yeas.
In addition to the ordinances, the Council approved routine items including the minutes of the Dec. 16, 2024 meeting (motion by Mrs. Connie Miller; second by Mr. Brian Blankenship; roll call: seven yeas) and confirmed 2025 committee appointments (motion by Mr. Zack Gallagher; second by Mr. Troy Lauffer; roll call: seven yeas).
No executive session was held; the meeting adjourned at 7:56 p.m.
