The Village of Robbins Board of Trustees approved a warrant list totaling $932,228.86, granted a business license to Kiya's Kitchen and authorized a contract with Tru North Software LLC during its March 25 regular meeting.
Trustee Gregory N. Jackson moved to approve the warrant list and the motion was seconded by Trustees David R. Dyson and Thomas Harper Jr. Roll call votes recorded ayes from Dyson, Ernest Maxey Jr., Harper, Jackson and Michael Collier Sr.; Trustee Tiffany S. Robinson abstained. The motion carried, approving payments and encumbrances that the board included on the warrant list.
The board unanimously approved a business license for Kiya's Kitchen after a motion by Trustee Jackson and a second from Trustees Tiffany S. Robinson and Michael Collier Sr.
Trustees also authorized a new contract with Tru North Software LLC after a motion by Trustee Thomas Harper Jr., seconded by Trustees Gregory N. Jackson and Michael Collier Sr.; the motion carried on an affirmative vote.
In other business, VA Korie Dickson told the board she and Mayor Darren E. Bryant are working with Bethel Resource Center to place four to five temporary workers, in six-week rotations and at no cost to the village, in public works and the water department. Multiple community announcements were made regarding job fairs, township services for seniors and a planned water-main replacement at 139th and Ridgeway that may cause a temporary shutoff and a subsequent 24-hour boil order.
The board scheduled a finance meeting for April 2 to review the aging report, the treasurer's report and the appropriation budget; a possible public-property meeting may follow. Mayor Darren E. Bryant asked for a moment of silence for Commander Hinkle, who served the Robbins Police Department for more than 20 years. The meeting adjourned at 7:28 p.m.
