At the Jan. 9 meeting the superintendent reported on staffing plans for the 2025–26 school year, saying the district has posted openings for a psychologist (replacement), an elementary teacher replacement, two newly created intervention specialist positions and a new music teacher.
The administration described the new intervention specialist roles as part of an effort to support students with individualized instruction needs; the music teacher position could allow the district to add choir if the board approves filling the post. Administrators noted that more than 20% of district students are served by individualized education programs (IEPs), and that additional intervention support is intended to help those students access grade-level instruction.
District leadership emphasized fiscal caution: the superintendent said staffing decisions will be reviewed in light of the five-year financial forecast and that no positions will be filled without explicit board approval. The board agreed to set aside time in February to discuss staffing and budgeting before making final hiring commitments.
