The Town of Summers Planning & Zoning Commission on June 11 approved a modification to a special use permit for Summers Mountain Properties LLC to allow limited additional food vendors near an approved food truck. An applicant representative said the change would permit one food truck plus occasional adjacent vendors such as a coffee station or cookie vendor and that the company worked out related settlement conditions with neighbors.
The commission sought and received confirmation that the application allows a total of four vendors — the food truck plus up to three additional vendors — and heard a brief public comment in support from local resident and business owner Jason Kano, who said he was "100% on board" and described the site as a positive community venue.
Staff did not raise outstanding concerns in the hearing; commissioners said the requested change is consistent with the town's plan of conservation and development, which supports farm-related businesses and agritourism uses. A motion to approve the modification (PZC26-004) carried on a voice vote.
The change affects conditions for temporary food vendors and does not alter other special use permit provisions. The commission moved on to other items after the vote.
