Valley View council approves pay claims, hires engineer and authorizes 18 new tasers

The Village of Valley View council voted unanimously on Nov. 4 to approve three ordinances that completed routine financial and operational business.
Ordinance 2025-11-1, introduced by Councilwoman Jakubczak, authorized payment of certain claims for October 2025. Council suspended the rules, placed the ordinance on third reading and passed it by roll call vote of 5-0.
Ordinance 2025-11-2, introduced by Mayor March, authorizes the mayor to enter into an agreement with Axon Enterprise, Inc. for purchase of 18 Axon Taser 10 conducted energy weapons for the Valley View Police Department. Police Chief Niro said the department’s current tasers "are reaching the end of their life" and that the purchase was being made now "to avoid the pending price increase." Council suspended the rules, placed the ordinance on third reading, and passed it 5-0.
Ordinance 2025-11-3, introduced by Mayor March and presented as an emergency measure, provides for employment of an engineer for the village, repeals Ordinance No. 2023-11-5 and fixes compensation. The council suspended the rules and passed the ordinance by a 5-0 roll call.
Clerk-Treasurer Snyder also presented a cash report for the period ending Oct. 31, 2025, and several department heads submitted written reports. The meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
