Cushing Selectboard approves warrants, grants one-day liquor permit and awards sand bid

Chair Craig Currie moved to approve 2024 Warrants #26 and #27; the motion was seconded by Selectboard member Tracey Bally and carried 5-0-0. The board then voted, on a motion from Craig Currie seconded by Brian Soiett, to sign and approve a Georges River Land Trust application for a one-day liquor license for its July event. The board noted that "Title 28" has been approved by the town and allows the Selectboard to approve single-day liquor events without holding a public hearing; the motion carried 5-0-0.
On procurement, the Selectboard accepted a sand bid from Donald E. Meklin and Sons at a price of $17.50 per cubic yard. The motion to accept the bid was made by Craig Currie, seconded by Tracey Bally, and approved 5-0-0.
Also during the meeting the board approved the Cushing Library's requests to use the community room for a Marc Black program on July 20 and a Guiding Eyes program on Aug. 18, and voted to adopt the town's BMV policy; both motions passed 5-0-0.
