Selectboard members Mike James and Craig Currie said they attended a Waldoboro meeting where the concept of 'pay-as-you-throw' was discussed. The board is compiling comparative numbers and plans to review cost estimates at its October meeting; members noted that Thomaston's figures were slightly worse than Waldoboro's.
No formal action was taken at the Sept. 9 meeting; the board listed the transfer station as unfinished business and instructed staff to continue gathering data for a future discussion.
