At its Feb. 3 meeting the Village of Valley View council voted to adopt a slate of ordinances concluding third readings and approving new administrative items.
Council passed three third‑reading ordinances that authorize collective bargaining agreements: an agreement covering full‑time Service Division workers, full‑time mechanics and groundskeepers (Ordinance 2025‑12‑9); an agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #67 (Ordinance 2025‑12‑10); and an agreement with the Valley View Firefighters IAFF Local 2634 (Ordinance 2025‑12‑11). Each was moved, seconded and recorded as carried by a 5–0 roll call.
Council also suspended the rules and approved additional ordinances: payment of claims for January 2026 (Ordinance 2026‑2‑1); an amendment to chapter 247.02 to change Community Center composition and compensation (Ordinance 2026‑2‑2); a Service Department CDL training participation program (Ordinance 2026‑2‑3), which passed with Councilperson Wyatt recorded as abstaining; an ordinance establishing part‑time member compensation for the Valley View Fire Department (Ordinance 2026‑2‑4); and the ordinance authorizing Chief David Niro to retain his retirement duty weapon (Ordinance 2026‑2‑5).
Clerk‑Treasurer Snyder presented the roll calls and the measures were recorded in the minutes as approved. The council expressed appreciation to staff and moved on to committee and department reports.
