Covington reports Stillwater Dam completion, upcoming DNR ceremony and local event reminders

Village Administrator Jordan Hodges told the council on Nov. 3 that work on the Stillwater Dam has been completed and that representatives from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources will attend a completion ceremony at 11 a.m. on Nov. 21, 2025.
Hodges also said an insurance adjuster recently inspected damaged poles and will report back within a few weeks, and that asphalt repairs at the Wastewater Treatment Plant are finished. He reported the village posted a Billing Clerk/Financial Analyst position on the village website and relevant job boards. The administrator reminded the council that the general election is Nov. 4 (polls open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.), that village offices will be closed for Veterans Day on Nov. 11 (trash service delayed one day), and that the Hometown Christmas event will be held Nov. 28 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
President Amy Welborn reiterated the Veterans Day Assembly hosted by Covington Schools on Nov. 6. These items were presented as informational updates; the minutes record no formal council vote on the listed operational and event items.
