At the May 5 meeting Robert Sklodowski of Schreiber Road (Garfield Heights) asked whether the village would provide a letter regarding annexing four properties from Garfield Heights into Valley View. Council discussed potential benefits and disadvantages; Councilman Chuck Wilson said his review of the numbers did not show benefits, Fire Chief Papesh raised safety concerns, and Councilwoman Paulson noted Maple Heights is geographically closer. Mayor March said he did not yet have council support and that the council would continue discussing the matter and follow up with Mr. Sklodowski.
Paul Johnston of Alexander asked for an update on the Pleasant Valley Bridge. Engineer Sciano said there was a meeting at the Rockside Road Bridge and that crews were expected back on site in about two weeks. Johnston expressed concern about drivers making U-turns on Alexander Road; Sciano said signage had limited effect and noted that police are enforcing rules, with the option to add more signage or request additional police presence.
No formal vote or direction was recorded on the annexation request; the council indicated further consideration was needed.
