The Village of Valley View Planning Board voted to approve a request to relocate FirstEnergy's 345-kilovolt transmission lines at 11311 Rockside Road (P.P.N. 571-13-001).
The motion to approve, moved by Joseph White and seconded by Mike Bertovich, passed on a 5-0 roll call. Ayes recorded were Bertovich, March, Spieth, Johnston and White.
Engineer Todd Sciano said the relocation work will be performed by FirstEnergy but paid for by Boyas, and that the cost "needed to be paid up front." Mr. Sciano also told the board the relocation is not related to boundary lines with Garfield Heights and would not hinder routing a future Transportation Boulevard through the area.
Board members asked logistical questions about the submitted map and color coding; Councilman Jim Spieth sought clarification on the plan extents, which Sciano provided. No public opposition was raised during the meeting.
Because the application required the board's approval, the board's affirmative vote authorizes the relocation as presented and records the board's recommendation to proceed under the stated financial arrangement. Next procedural steps (permits or municipal filings) were not described in the meeting record.
Clarifying details: Boyas was identified in the meeting record as the party paying for the relocation; FirstEnergy will perform the physical relocation; payment is required up front. The parcel was given as P.P.N. 571-13-001.
