Cushing Selectboard approves sale of old food pantry, amends ACO job duties and addressing ordinance

The Cushing Selectboard approved several administrative actions at its Monday meeting, including the sale of the Old Food Pantry, amendments to the Animal Control Officer job description and emergency policy, and a change to the town’s Addressing Ordinance.
The board accepted Jordan Crosthwaite’s bid of $11,500 for the Old Food Pantry (motion by Selectperson Tracey Bally; second by Brian Soiett). The motion carried 5-0-0. The minutes record the transaction and the vote without additional qualification.
The board also voted to amend the Animal Control Officer job description and the town’s emergency policy (motion by Chair Craig Currie; second by Michael James). That motion carried 5-0-0.
The Addressing Ordinance was amended to state that, when more than one property shares a private road, the town will pay for a road sign; the change explicitly excludes subdivisions (motion by Craig Currie; second by Tracey Bally). The board recorded the amendment as carried.
Other routine actions included approval of Warrants #30 and #31 (motion by Craig Currie; second by Brian Soiett; carried 5-0-0) and approval of the July 22, 2024 meeting minutes (motion by Cheryl Stackpole; second by Michael James; carried 4-0-0; the record notes Craig Currie was absent from that earlier meeting).
The board adjourned at 6:37 p.m. (motion by Craig Currie; second by Brian Soiett; carried 5-0-0).
