Cushing Selectboard approves warrants, bids and routine items; discontinues Google Meet

The Cushing Selectboard on Monday approved town warrants, accepted prior minutes and moved forward on a slate of routine procurement and operational items.
Selectboard Chair Craig Currie moved to approve 2024 Warrants #24 and #25; the motion, seconded by Tracey Bally, carried 5-0-0. The board then approved the minutes of its June 10 meeting on a 5-0-0 vote after Cheryl Stackpole moved and Mike James seconded.
The board voted unanimously to discontinue the use of Google Meet as a meeting tool, a motion made by Currie and seconded by Bally. The board also agreed to allow the town library to use the community room for its tag sale in case of rain; that motion was made by Currie and seconded by Selectboard member Brian Soiett.
Cheryl Stackpole moved, and Tracey Bally seconded, to add a $50 fee for "vegetative clearing" to the town fee schedule; that motion passed 5-0-0.
On procurement, the board approved a sand bid RFP with a submission deadline of July 8 and approved two road-work bids for Killeran Lane and Hathorne Point with a July 22 deadline. The board also approved a food pantry sale bid, with submissions due Aug. 12.
Other routine actions included a motion to have Bull Run Farm mow Good Neighbor Park in August for hay at no charge to the town (moved by Stackpole, seconded by Bally), and two motions to rescind the naming of Conner's Lane to Will's Lane and to purchase a road sign for Will's Way; both motions carried 5-0-0.
The meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m. after unanimous approval of the adjournment motion by Currie, seconded by Mike James.
