The Cranberry Isles Select Board on Jan. 6, 2026 approved and signed financial warrants totaling $86,526.37 and signed an engagement letter for the annual financial audit. The board also approved the Dec. 16, 2025 meeting minutes by a 3-0 vote.
Warrants reviewed included 2025 Warrant #137 for $21,171.07 and Warrant #138 (school) for $20,863.59; 2026 Warrant #50 for $6,977.17, Warrant #51 (school) for $8,247.48, and Warrant #52 for $29,267.06, for a combined total of $86,526.37. The board approved and signed those warrants without dissent.
Benjamin Sumner presented the annual audit engagement letter from James Wadman, which the board reviewed and signed with no recorded objections. The board tabled review of Comprehensive Plan Committee applications and the HCPC Comprehensive Plan update until the next January meeting. Emma Fernald asked the board to consider a $20,000 donation request from the Islesford Neighborhood House Association; the board tabled that request for further consideration.
Other administrative items recorded: James Fortune will follow up with the National Park Service on a proposal to fund a public restroom at the Islesford Dock; Town staff will review a solid-waste contract and recommend changes; the contract for Town Office batteries has been signed; and Chair Damon asked James Fortune to photograph a broadband generator at the Cranberry Island Boatyard for follow-up. Sharon Morrell will invite a TextMyGov representative to the next meeting; Johnathan Bennett noted the website RSS email service costs $40 per month.
The board set a tentative next meeting date of Jan. 20, 2026 and assigned action items before adjourning at 11:06 A.M.
