The Cranberry Isles Select Board voted 3-0 Jan. 20 to accept a three-year bid from Downeast Windjammer Cruises to operate the summer commuter ferry.
The board reviewed the multi-year proposal: $38,500 for 2026, $40,500 for 2027 and $42,500 for 2028. The bid includes a $350 fee for any extra trip requested beyond the normal seasonal runs. Chair Katelyn Damon moved to accept the Downeast Windjammer Cruises bid; January Bennett seconded and the motion carried 3-0.
Board members discussed the bid pricing and the additional-trip fee during the New Business ferry-bid review before voting. The contract award was recorded as a formal board motion in the meeting minutes. No vote breakdown beyond the unanimous tally was recorded.
