The Cranberry Isles Select Board voted unanimously Jan. 20 to support an Island Institute fellowship application and to budget a town contribution of $15,000 over two years.
Alden Hathaway presented the request on behalf of the Cranberry Isles Community Solar Association, asking the Town to participate in sharing an Island Fellow and to provide a letter of support for the group's application. Chair Katelyn Damon moved the board to support the application and the two-year funding commitment; January Bennett seconded the motion and the vote carried 3-0.
The pledge was recorded as a board motion during the meeting’s Old Business item. The minutes show the contribution is to be budgeted across two years; the motion did not specify how the annual line items will be drawn from the town budget.
No public comment was recorded on the request during the meeting. The board proceeded with other agenda items after approving the fellowship support.
