Board unanimously backs Girl Scouts’ plan for Branford Dog Toy Library at Short Beach Dog Park

Troop members Marcet, Piper and Madlyn, accompanied by Troop Leader Wendy DeLucia, presented the proposal and submitted a sample image of the planned library. The troop said the project would be built by members with assistance from Branford Parks, Recreation & Senior Services and targeted a Dog Park installation by September 2026.
Board member Bill O’Brien personally pledged $100 to the project during discussion. Jeanne Crowley made the motion to approve the board’s support and Bob Ceccolini seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
No implementation details (design approvals, installation timeline beyond the September goal, or funding sources beyond the $100 pledge) were recorded in the minutes; staff will work with the troop on next steps.
