Valley View council adopts temporary appropriations, closes funds and approves a county health MOU

At a special meeting Dec. 22, the Village of Valley View council approved a series of routine but administratively necessary measures.
Ordinance 2025‑12‑12 established temporary appropriations for fiscal year ending March 31, 2026; council suspended the rules, moved the ordinance to third reading and passed it by a 5–0 vote. Council also suspended rules and closed Fund 206 (ARPA/SLFRF) via Ordinance 2025‑12‑13 and closed Fund 706 (Flower Fund) via Ordinance 2025‑12‑14; both measures passed unanimously.
Mayor March introduced Ordinance 2025‑12‑15, a memorandum of understanding with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health, which council approved 5–0. Mayor March also introduced Ordinance 2025‑12‑16 to amend section 1426.02 of the Village codified ordinances to correct a building permit fee typo; Clerk‑Treasurer Mary Snyder said the ordinance “is just cleaning up the ordinance because there was a typo” and noted the rates were changed in 2019 but the codified text had not been updated. Council suspended the rules and passed the amendment 5–0.
