Fairborn board ratifies personnel changes, LETRS training and accepts community donations

The Fairborn City School District Board of Education at its Nov. 7 meeting approved a range of personnel actions, professional development and accepted several community donations.
Board members voted to approve certificated step changes and activity supplements for the 2024–25 school year (examples in the minutes include Jennifer Jamison advancing to M/6 and Jacob Ross to B/3), multiple athletic and activity supplemental contracts, and adjustments and rescissions to previously listed supplements. The board also approved substitute teachers and classified hires, and accepted resignations and retirements reported in the minutes.
The board approved LETRS professional development for selected staff for up to 24 hours at $30 per hour to be paid from Title IIA funds. The minutes list participating staff by name; funding is explicitly recorded as Title IIA.
The board acknowledged several community donations: 7 Brew Drive Thru Coffee provided 125 drinks for FIS staff and 200 drinks for FPS staff; Matt Cline with Just a Pair of Shoes donated 51 pairs of shoes for FIS students; Faircreek Church donated $1,235 for the Homeless Liaison; Chris and Pam Gayheart donated $1,000 to the turf fund; and Stephanie Peterangelo donated $500 to the turf fund. Other in-kind and monetary donations listed in the minutes were also accepted.
The meeting record also includes approvals for surplus and sale of equipment via GovDeals and approval of the Fairborn Intermediate Student/Parent Handbook for 2024–25. These items were treated as routine agenda business and approved by the board.
