Presentations, student recognition and public comments highlight Fairborn City board meeting

The Fairborn City School District board heard several presentations at its Oct. 3 meeting, including a student graduation recognition by Karen Chicketti, a Washington, D.C. trip overview for FMS presented by Kitten Guere, and the district report card and a PLTW outstanding teacher recognition presented by Sue Brackenhoff.
During the visitors/public comments portion, Gretchen Fauzey spoke to the board about the administrative salary schedule that had been approved at the board’s Sept. 5 meeting. Another commenter, Marilyn McCauley, praised staff member Pam Gayheart and read aloud a couple of handmade cards created for local veterans to illustrate district participation in veteran appreciation efforts.
The presentations and public comments were part of a meeting that also handled routine consent business (budget, personnel and extracurricular approvals). The minutes show the public comment items were recorded under recognition of visitors and did not lead to a board vote or immediate staff direction on the administrative salary schedule at this meeting.
