Board of Zoning Appeals denies accessory-building appeal and approves front-setback variance

The Versailles Board of Zoning Appeals unanimously denied an appeal by Terry Barga ordering removal of an accessory structure and approved a front-setback variance for Chris and Caleshya Minnich to build an addition eight feet from the right-of-way where 25 feet is required.
The Board of Zoning Appeals met Dec. 9 and reported its decisions to council on Dec. 11. The board denied BZA Case No. 24-07, an appeal by Terry Barga regarding a notice of violation for an accessory building on a vacant residential lot; the board ordered Mr. Barga to remove the accessory building within 14 days from Dec. 10.
In BZA Case No. 24-08 the board unanimously approved a front-setback variance requested by Chris and Caleshya Minnich for an addition that would sit eight feet from the N. West St. right-of-way where the Versailles zoning regulations require a 25-foot front setback. The board’s vote was unanimous in favor of the variance.
The council received these reports as part of its committee and board reports section; no further action by council was recorded at the Dec. 11 meeting.
