Mr. Eric Stachler, joined by Mrs. Deb Pohl and Mrs. Holly Keiser, explained the group’s intent to coordinate activities with the Alumni MusicFest, said they are pursuing state grant opportunities, and noted the Village had previously set aside bicentennial funds. Council members agreed to appropriate $10,000 in 2025 and $10,000 in 2026 to support the America 250 celebration; expenditures will require subsequent council approval as event plans and budgets are finalized.
The appropriation was included as an amendment to the Five‑Year Capital Improvements Plan, which council adopted at the meeting by unanimous vote. Ms. Shaffer moved to approve the plan and the America 250 funding; Mrs. Dieringer seconded.
Council did not set event details or authorize particular contracts at the meeting; staff will return to council for approval of any specific expenditures or grants.
