City arborist details Master Tree Plan updates and major planting projects

Varga recommended the committee seek edit‑only access to Tree Tracker/Asset Essentials and advised contacting Henry Chaski to determine whether the committee can verify arboretum data across city systems. He also asked members to recommend replacement species for dead trees on 202nd Street.
The arborist said the Knowles Report is being updated with grant funds and described several planting projects under way. He reported that the Bain Park erosion control project is in process and will include more than 100 replacement trees — including species new to the park that will expand the arboretum census. Varga also said the Northwood/Eastwood project will be completed this fall using earlier committee recommendations.
