Waite Hill council adopts appropriation amendment and five-year emergency services agreement
Summary

At its May 11 meeting the Waite Hill Village Council approved a set of routine but consequential items: Resolution No. 2026-6 authorizing payment of certain sums, Ordinance No. 2026-7 amending the annual appropriation ordinance for fiscal year 2026, and Ordinance No. 2026-8 authorizing a five-year agreement with the City of Willoughby Hills for fire, emergency medical and rescue services covering Jan. 1, 2026 through Dec. 31, 2031.
Council read Resolution No. 2026-6 and, after discussion, adopted it on a motion by Councilmember Karl Scheucher, seconded by Samuel Knezevic. The minutes record a unanimous roll-call vote in favor.
Council then considered Ordinance No. 2026-7, an amendment to the Village’s annual appropriation ordinance. Members voted to suspend the rule requiring three separate readings and, after discussion, adopted the measure by unanimous roll call.
On Ordinance No. 2026-8, Council also voted to suspend the three-reading rule and adopt a contract authorizing the mayor to enter into an agreement with the City of Willoughby Hills for fire and emergency services. The minutes note council’s awareness of an increased cost for the contract prior to adoption; the ordinance was adopted unanimously.
