Robert Gugel, a Marysville resident, addressed the council to describe his use of Pastime Park and to urge the village to retain a 180-day stay limit for campers.
Gugel said he and his wife purchased a camper in retirement and frequently use Pastime Park while visiting family in central Ohio. "I was notified by Mr. Denton Kitts that the 180 day stay limit had been decreased per Council action," Gugel said, and added that while he supports closing winter camping from January through April to address safety, reducing the overall stay limit risks decreased revenue for the campground. He told Council that during non-travel months the couple spend most of the year in Florida but value the option of longer stays while visiting central Ohio.
The minutes record the comment but do not show any immediate staff or council response or a motion to change policy on the record. The Parks & Recreation Committee and staff would be the next contacts for any proposed changes to campsite stay limits or winter camping rules.
Provenance: Visitor comment recorded in the meeting minutes and transcript (SEG 006–SEG 008).
