Stone Park announces Halloween drive-by finale, paving work and new businesses

Special Events Trustee Loretta J. Teets told the board the Halloween celebration scheduled for Oct. 31 will be the village's last drive-by event; the village plans to host future events at the Stone Park Sports & Entertainment Complex once construction is complete.
Public Works staffer Jessica Ramirez reported the second round of EPA-required water samples was completed and certification forms submitted for the July–December monitoring period. Ramirez said crews installed a replacement light pole at 1550 N. Mannheim Road, trimmed a tree in front of the Public Works building, and finished paving alleys on portions of 38th–40th Avenues.
Ramirez reminded residents the Branch Pick-Up Program ends Nov. 1, 2025; the minutes record the mayor saying citations will be issued to noncompliant residents, but crews will continue to collect branches set out after the deadline to avoid accumulation during winter.
Trustee Nazario Garcia reported two new businesses: Stone Park Leo Tint, 1538 N. Mannheim Road (opened Aug. 21, 2025), and El Encanto Restaurant, 1700 N. Mannheim Road (opened Aug. 26, 2025). Fire & Police Commissioner Rosemary Sapoznik announced a swearing-in ceremony for Oct. 28.
