Stone Park trustees approve $247,716 construction installment, OK sidewalk contracts

The Village of Stone Park Board of Trustees on Sept. 9 approved a $247,716.40 fourth installment payment to Vision Construction and authorized two concrete sidewalk contracts from AJD Concrete totaling $16,268.25.

The actions came during the Building & Grounds portion of the meeting. Trustee Loretta J. Teets moved to approve Vision Construction and Consulting, Inc. Invoice #4163 for $247,716.40; Trustee Sylvia Terrazas seconded the motion, which passed on a roll-call vote with Trustee Marco T. Paz absent.

Trustee Teets also moved, seconded by Trustee Marco A. Gutierrez, to accept two AJD Concrete estimates — #2025-006 for $8,009.75 and #2025-007 for $8,258.50 — for removal and replacement of sidewalks at 39th Avenue & Lemoyne and 40th Avenue & Lemoyne; that motion likewise passed with Trustee Paz absent.

Separately, the Board approved in principle a potential new arcade business at 3200 W. Lemoyne Avenue to use public parking to satisfy zoning requirements, subject to a favorable recommendation from the Zoning Board for a special use permit. Trustee Teets moved and Trustee Gutierrez seconded that action; the approval is contingent on the Zoning Board outcome.

The minutes do not specify funding sources tied to the Vision invoice or whether the sidewalk work will draw from the General Fund, Water Fund, or a capital account. The Board recorded roll-call votes for each motion; all present members voted aye.
