CCRPC staff provided an equity update at the May 1 committee meeting highlighting recent training and outreach activities and ongoing policy work.
Charlie Baker reported on behalf of Anne Nelson Stoner, who was out of town. Stoner has been participating in a VLCT equity training and a facilitative leadership program; she recently engaged in a housing conference and presented to a sustainable planning class at the University of Vermont. Staff also facilitated a follow-up discussion related to Richard Rothstein’s work and are continuing work on a Code of Conduct, pending feedback from the Community Justice Center. Charlie said the Code of Conduct may return to the executive committee in June or July.
Why it matters: Equity training and the Code of Conduct inform how CCRPC conducts outreach and internal governance, including how staff and board members engage with communities and partners.
Next steps: Staff will incorporate Community Justice Center feedback and anticipate returning the Code of Conduct draft to the committee in June or July.
