CCRPC Executive Committee reviews staff Code of Conduct draft; contractors may sign shortened version

The Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission Executive Committee reviewed a staff-only draft Code of Conduct at its Feb. 7 meeting and outlined next steps for review and board consideration.
Anne Nelson Stoner, equity and engagement manager, said the current draft is intended for staff and that the Board/Committee version is being held until external partners can review. Members asked whether contractors would be required to follow CCRPC standards; Stoner and staff indicated contractors would likely be asked to sign a shortened version of the Code tied to contract provisions and existing standard clauses.
Bard Hill noted contractors often have their own codes of conduct and asked which would take precedence; Elaine Haney suggested that contractors hired by CCRPC be required to perform to CCRPC’s standards. Charlie Baker said staff will review existing contract language and incorporate standard provisions. Staff plan a final review with staff, then to present the Executive Committee draft at the March 6 meeting and a Board version on March 20.
The committee did not adopt the Code of Conduct at this meeting; members asked staff to incorporate clarifications before formal consideration.
