CCRPC committee says TIP will come to Board in October; public hearing warned for November amid potential federal fund redistribution

Christine Forde, senior transportation planner, updated the Joint Finance & Executive Committee that the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) approval was delayed while staff and state and federal partners (FHWA and VTrans) worked to improve STIP/TIP processes.
Forde said the TIP will be presented to the Board in October, that a public hearing will be warned for November and that the Board is expected to approve the TIP at its November meeting. She also warned that an August redistribution of federal funds could lead to time‑sensitive amendments to the TIP if county projects are selected for the redistributed funding.
Executive Director Charlie Baker added that staff will monitor possible project selections closely and prepare for any necessary TIP amendments to meet federal timing constraints.
The committee asked staff to proceed with the schedule and to provide materials to the Board in advance of the October presentation; staff will warn a public hearing for November if timelines hold.
