Dedham selectmen approve $500 grant and 3.5% pay increase for town employees

The Dedham Board of Selectmen met Feb. 5, 2026, and unanimously approved routine financial and personnel actions including a $500 grant to the Bald Mountain Snow Riders and a 3.5% cost-of-living increase for Town Office employees.
Selectmen Timothy Scribner, Paul Miller and Richard Leavitt opened the meeting at 5:30 p.m. and recorded roll call before moving to business. On a motion by Richard Leavitt, seconded by Paul Miller, the board adopted the minutes of the Jan. 8, 2026 Selectmen’s meeting by a 3-0 vote.
Fire Chief Zack Cronkhite, Treasurer Michelle Fish and Ann Greenlaw (Animal Control) presented department reports. The Selectmen voted 3-0 to accept those reports after a motion from Paul Miller and a second from Timothy Scribner.
The board approved a series of warrants (listed in the minutes as 2026-71 through 2026-79 and associated payroll/payable batches). Richard Leavitt moved to approve the warrants, Paul Miller seconded, and the motion passed 3-0.
On the grant, the Selectmen approved a $500 allocation to the Bald Mountain Snow Riders on a motion by Paul Miller with Richard Leavitt seconding; the vote was 3-0.
Selectmen also approved a 3.5% cost-of-living increase for Town Office employees after Richard Leavitt moved the measure and Paul Miller seconded; the motion passed 3-0.
The meeting record notes a cluster mailbox in the Jellison Brook Subdivision was knocked over by snow or a plow truck. Because the roads there are publicly maintained, the U.S. Postal Service will deliver mail to individual addresses in the interim. Town officials told property owners they may maintain the cluster box jointly or install individual roadside mailboxes at the end of their drives.
The meeting adjourned at 5:46 p.m. on a motion by Paul Miller, seconded by Richard Leavitt. No further meetings or hearings were announced in the minutes.
