The Solon Springs School District Board of Education on June 15 approved a package of routine policy and personnel items and then moved into closed session to discuss employment matters under Wisconsin law.
The board approved the 2026–27 employee handbook and a set of technical corrections (Volume 35.1), and approved policy updates required by Acts 88 and 89. The board also approved updates to the coach handbook for 2026 to clarify grievance language and align with statutory changes. Each item passed on voice votes after motion and second.
The board approved recommended daycare rate increases, settling on implementation at the start of the school year rather than immediately on July 1. The board also approved a district map of K–12 essential math standards to guide instruction.
Personnel actions taken by the board included acceptance of two resignations: Jessica Johnson (middle-school ELA) and Charlotte Sanborn (instrumental music teacher). The board also approved a job description for director of special education and approved allowing students’ paid college credits to count as high-school elective credits when brought to the district.
After completing those agenda items the board voted to enter closed session at 6:33 p.m. under Wisconsin Statutes 19.85(1)(c) to consider employment, promotion, compensation and performance-evaluation data for public employees.
Most motions were approved by voice vote after a motion and second; no roll-call tallies were recorded in the public transcript.
