Salem Township supervisors on Feb. 18 unanimously approved Resolution 9‑2026 to enter a grant agreement with the Commonwealth Financing Authority to fund a Tower Lane and Apple Lane waterline extension.
Supervisor Kerry Jobe said the grant covers $340,000 requested through the Pennsylvania Small Water & Sewer grant program and authorizes township officials to sign the required agreements. The board voted 3–0 to approve the resolution.
The grant will allow the township to move forward with engineering, procurement and construction planning for the waterline extension. No construction schedule or completion date was specified at the meeting.
The board’s action removes an administrative barrier: with the signed agreement, Salem Township can accept and manage the awarded funds and proceed to the next procurement and design steps. The supervisors did not discuss contract awards or a project timeline at the meeting.
The supervisors indicated subsequent steps will include finalizing agreements and coordinating design and bidding; the board did not set an implementation deadline at the Feb. 18 meeting.
