Tremont Select Board Chair James Thurlow called the meeting to order at 5 p.m. on May 5, 2025, in the Harvey Kelley Meeting Room at the Tremont Town Office. The board approved several business licensing requests, accepted the FY24 audit, and approved FY25 warrants.
The board held two public hearings on local business licenses. It approved Archie’s Lobster’s application for an on‑premises state liquor license and a Special Amusement Permit for the property at 90 Tremont Road after public comments were heard. The motion to approve Archie’s application was made by Select Board member McKenzie Jewett and seconded by Howard Goodwin; the vote passed unanimously.
The board also approved a Special Amusement Permit for Island Take Out LLC, doing business as Seaside Dairy Bar and Lobster Pound at 21 Harbor Drive. Chair Thurlow opened and then closed the hearing with no public comments before the board approved the permit on a motion from Jewett, seconded by Eric Eaton.
On routine business, the board approved the minutes of April 22, 2025; the motion carried 4–0–1 with Jewett recorded as abstaining. Kevin Buck moved and Howard Goodwin seconded the approval of FY25 warrants #111–#117, which include the line items recorded in the minutes; that motion passed unanimously.
Auditors James C. Wadman, CPA, and Kellie Bowden, CPA presented the results of the audit for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. The Select Board voted to accept and file the audited financial statements and thanked the auditors for attending.
The board confirmed its next regular meeting for Monday, May 19, 2025, at 5 p.m. and adjourned at 7:11 p.m.
All votes noted in these minutes were recorded as motions with movers and seconders, and where recorded the minutes list unanimity except where noted above for the minutes approval.
