Select Board member Eric Eaton moved to tentatively accept the fire department request; the motion was seconded by Howard Goodwin and passed unanimously. Separately, the board voted to direct the Town Manager to use $116,000 of unallocated surplus in the draft FY26 budget and approved an encumbrance of $50,000 from the FY24 budget to the Public Safety Building Reserve for FY25. Those motions were moved and seconded by board members and passed without dissent.
Town Manager Jesse Dunbar presented the manager’s proposed FY26 budget verbally during the meeting. The votes recorded in the minutes are tentative and part of the board’s ongoing FY26 budget process; no final budget adoption was recorded at this meeting.
The board indicated the use of surplus and the encumbrance to the Public Safety Building Reserve as funding steps to accommodate anticipated public safety needs while the formal budget process continues.
