During the public-comment portion of the Aug. 19 Select Board meeting, resident Nancy Fish told the board she and others had left upset after hearing the former town manager make statements at a prior meeting that, in Fish’s view, suggested town staff were not competent without the former manager's assistance.
Fish said staff have taken on extra duties since the former manager left and defended their work, saying, "the staff are working very hard, they all do a wonderful job and since the former town manager has left some of the staff have taken on lots of extra duties and they are doing a very good job at what needs to be done." The Select Board thanked Fish for sharing her concerns during public comment.
The minutes record the board’s acknowledgement but do not record any formal action or investigation stemming from Fish’s statements at that meeting.
