Quincy Township supervisors approved the purchase of a 2026 Ford F-550 cab-and-chassis and addressed multiple capital-equipment and construction items at their May 4 meeting.
The board approved an alternate quote from Keystone Ford, Chambersburg, PA, for a 2026 Ford F-550 cab & chassis at $82,560 (motion moved by Vice Chairman Nelson Egolf, seconded by Supervisor Josh Peters), carried unanimously.
Administrator Ken Myers reported that a recently delivered International dump truck developed a significant oil leak at the main seal; the Road Foreman is arranging to have the truck picked up and repaired. Myers said he discussed the issue with the truck salesman, Bill Beck, at the PSATS conference and asked that an extended warranty be provided due to ongoing engine issues. The minutes state Beck said he could sell the township an extended warranty and that he would look into providing one at no cost. Myers recounted the warranty terms recorded in the minutes: a base warranty of two years or 250,000 miles and an Allison transmission warranty of three years with unlimited miles.
On construction procurement, the minutes show that Dutchman Contracting LLC signed and returned contract documents for the salt storage building with required bonding and insurance, and Martin & Martin issued a Notice to Proceed on April 23. A preconstruction meeting was noted as potentially scheduled for Friday, May 8.
The minutes do not record dollar amounts or repair contracts for the dump truck repair, nor do they record a definitive outcome on the extended warranty request.
