The China Select Board on Aug. 12 approved multiple contracts and town projects, including PFAS treatment proposals and repairs to a town cemetery.
On new business the board accepted the Radon Tech & EverClean Water proposal for PFAS systems at PW & TS; the motion was made by Brent Chesley and seconded by Blane Casey, with the minutes recording the vote Ayes: 5 / Nays: 0.
The board also accepted the low bid of $12,850 from SD Childs & Son Excavation to complete the Town Line Trail work at Thurston Park (motion by Blane Casey, second by Brent Chesley; Ayes: 5 / Nays: 0). Select Board members approved repairs to stones at Branch Mills Cemetery at a cost of $14,050 (motion by Janet Preston, second by Wayne Chadwick; Ayes: 5 / Nays: 0).
Finally, the board allowed Rita's Catering to serve liquor at 701 Neck Road for a celebration of life (motion by Janet Preston, second by Blane Casey); minutes record approval 4-0-1 (notation: BAC).
