The Dresden Select Board voted April 7 to approve the town’s final municipal budget of $1,972,793.27 and to send the figures to the Budget Review Committee for its review prior to Town Meeting.
The motion to approve the budget was made by Jeff Bickford and seconded by Keith Allen; the board voted in favor. The budget figure excludes the RSU2 school budget, which follows a separate public hearing and regional vote schedule, including an RSU hearing May 13 at Hall-Dale High School and a regional vote May 20 at Monmouth Academy.
Board members said recent workshops focused on minimizing tax impact while finalizing numbers. The board previously met at the Town Office for detailed budget review and worked toward “final numbers” to limit tax increases.
The Budget Review Committee (BRC) completed another pass of the municipal budget and will meet Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Bridge Academy; final recommendations will be provided to the Select Board ahead of Town Meeting.
The Select Board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for April 21, 2026, at Pownalborough Hall.
