Jean Blais, representing RSU2, briefed the Dresden Select Board on school-district outreach and scheduling at the March 10 meeting.
Blais said pre-K and kindergarten registration is scheduled for April 8. She outlined budget-related public sessions: a budget discussion at the district office on March 19 at 5:30 p.m., a public presentation on March 23 and additional sessions March 24 (DES at H-D) and March 25 in Monmouth. She noted RSU2 recently launched a new website that currently has a few glitches but will host minutes and other public information once fully populated.
On pending legislation, Blais said a bill before the state legislature contains multiple provisions and could shift some tax burden; she said the district would monitor the bill and that the town should be aware of potential effects on local taxes. Chair Lisa Hewitt asked that the RSU2 flyer be provided to the town office for inclusion in the town Communicator and on the town website.
The board did not take formal action on RSU2 items at the March 10 meeting; Blais thanked board members for attending a prior budget meeting and for coordinating information sharing between the district and town.
