Selectboard approves minutes, vendor changes and contingency spend; enters executive session

At its Jan. 13 meeting the Dresden Selectboard approved prior minutes and several operational motions, voted to change the fire department’s propane vendor to Coastline Energy, entered executive session under MRSA 1, Subchapter 456(f), and approved a $1,000 contingency expenditure.
The Dresden Selectboard met Jan. 13, 2026, at Pownalborough Hall and approved routine minutes and warrants while taking several operational votes.
Selectboard member Lisa Hewitt motioned and the board approved signing the minutes for Dec. 16 and Dec. 30, 2025; Jeffrey Bickford seconded the motion. The board also approved payroll, accounts payable and water warrants during the same portion of the meeting.
During the meeting the board voted to switch the fire department’s fuel service to Coastline Energy after staff presented a comparison showing lower propane pricing, automatic delivery and monitoring. The board noted savings for oil and diesel were modest and included conditions allowing future price review and continued Selectboard oversight.
At 6:10 p.m. the board voted to enter an executive session under MRSA 1, Subchapter 456(f). The public meeting resumed at 6:17 p.m., and Jeffrey Bickford moved, with Keith Allen seconding, to spend $1,000 from the contingency fund; the meeting adjourned at 6:18 p.m.
