Medina County commissioners approve bridge contract, personnel and finance measures and accept body‑worn camera grant

Commissioner Stephen D. Hambley moved approval of the minutes and each set of resolutions; Commissioner Aaron M. Harrison seconded and roll call showed all commissioners voting aye on every item.
Among the approved measures were a resolution honoring Jan Radachy for 47 years of foster parenting service (Resolution 26‑0329), a variance to the Medina County Engineering Code for Pride One Construction in the Bohaty Planned Development (26‑0330), and the award of the 2026 replacement contract for Bridge No. 1 on Ledgewood Drive in Medina Township (26‑0331). Finance actions approved included expenditure adjustments, cash transfers for the CY2024 countywide audit, and authorization to accept an Office of Criminal Justice Services (OCJS) Body Worn Camera Grant for the Medina County Sheriff’s Office (26‑0333 through 26‑0340). The board authorized claims and issuance in the amount of $1,283,042.52 (Resolution 26‑0340).
County Administrator Matt Springer presented and the board approved an amendment to the USDA lease for office space at 6090 Wedgewood Road (26‑0341). The board also reappointed John Welker Jr. to the Medina County Advisory Council on Aging & Disability (26‑0342). For each motion recorded in the minutes, Hambley made the motion and Harrison seconded; roll call votes were recorded as unanimous.
Sharon Holmes, Job & Family Services Foster Care/Adoption Supervisor, accepted the commendation on behalf of Jan Radachy and noted Radachy was unable to attend due to illness and that May is National Foster Parent Month. Financial approvals and grant acceptance were presented by Finance Director Brett Thomas. County Engineer Administrative Assistant Dan Becker presented the engineering resolutions.
The commissioners adjourned at 9:47 a.m.
